1996/97 Season Review

Another statistical accompaniment to The Lost Years, this time part 2, the 1996/96 season.

Again little is officially covered but the three key features were the Melboro' cup game, Kevin Clark being banged up for fraud and finally Roy Race's return as manager to inspire Rovers to beat Gatesfield in the final match of the season to avoid relegation. This season also introduces a story regarding Roy's financial commitments to Rovers and the continued boardroom struggles that would be a feature of the next few seasons.

A weak Rovers side struggled to avoid relegation to the Second Division, only escaping on the final day.
